Tour Details

The capital of Belarus, located on the Svislach and Niamiha rivers, is an exemple of Stalinist architecture and thus an ideal city for those interested in Soviet Union’s history. The country is slowly opening itself to the travelers and has a lot to show.

It’s a city in which various atmospheres and eras are mixed together: Imposing Stalinist buildings rub shoulders with the picturesque historic center of the upper city with its small alleys, restaurants, shops, sculptures,…

During the tour, we’ll also go 120 km from Minsk to admire the castles of Mir and Nesvij, listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Itinerary

Day 1Minsk

Arrival in Minsk. Transfer to the hotel, accommodation.

Day 2Minsk – Dududki – Minsk

Breakfast and city sightseeing tour. You will see the most valuable architectural monuments of the city: the Orthodox Cathedral and Catholic Churches of the 17-18th centuries. You will see St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church of the beginning of the 17th century and the “Red” Church of the 20th century; the oldest street Nemiga which started its way from the Minsk castle, and the picturesque Upper Town. The historic centre of Minsk – the Upper Town – attracts visitors with its unique atmosphere of the past which is felt in its old buildings and on its narrow streets where museums, cafes and restaurants, boutiques and sculptures are located. Lunch.

Visit to the Dudutki museum, which is located 45 km from the capital, in a picturesque area near the river Ptich. The tour will give you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the 18th century Belarus and to learn about local arts and crafts. Return to the hotel and accommodation.

Day 3Minsk – Mir – Nesvizh – Minsk

Breakfast. Excursion to Mir and Nesvizh castles. You will see the most valuable monuments of Belarus listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites – the Mir Castle and the architectural, residential and cultural Complex of the Radziwill Family in Nesvizh, which restoration ended in 2011. The majestic Mir castle was built in the 16th century, it is a beautiful example of the Belarusian architecture that time. You will feel the atmosphere of life in the castle passing through the basements where provision was kept and the Ball-room swimming in luxury of Rococo style. Alongside the castle there is the fl amboyant chapel of the Svyatopolk-Mirsky family. The historic part of the town of Mir – the place where Belarusians, Poles, Jews, Gypsies and Tartars had been living together for a long time – kept the atmosphere of the former small town.The ensemble of the market place is formed by the Orthodox and Catholic Churches, synagogues, Yeshiva, the houses of craftsmen and merchants. Lunch.

Tour to Nesvizh – the former capital of the Radziwill family. The Nesvizh Castle Complex of the 16-18th centuries was designed by the Italian architect Giovanni Maria Bernardoni by the order of Nicolas Christophe Radziwill nicknamed “Sierotka” (“the Orphan”). The magnifi cent castle surrounded by high earthworks and wide ponds represents the system of buildings forming the sumptuous court of honor. The elements of Renaissance, Baroque and Classicism are interwoven here. Return to Minsk. Free time.

Day 4Minsk

Breakfast. Check-out and transfer to the airport.
