Karelia is often called the country of lakes, there are more than 60 thousand lakes and 27 thousand rivers.
During your stay you will get to know the ancient history of the region, you will visit the most remarkable monument of ancient wooden architecture – the Kizhi ensemble that has served as the foundation for an open-air museum well-known throughout the world. You will visit the Nature Reserve of Kivach that is famous for its waterfall – the second largest plain waterfall in Europe. You will taste the delicious cuisine of Karelia and even take a cooking master class!
Do you love huskies as much as they are loved in Karelia? For thousand years these beautiful and intelligent animals had been used for transportation across the Arctic tundra. Selective breeding had created the ideal sledding dog, perfectly suited to the freezing conditions and a life of hard work. You will visit a farm of huskies and you will enjoy a husky track along the picturesque Shuya river bank in the fabulous pine forest!

Arrival to Petrozavodsk. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.
Breakfast. Transfer to the husky farm. Meeting with the instructor. You will receive a short informative tutorial on safety measures. Excursion to the husky farm. Afterwards you will enjoy a 3 km husky trek along the picturesque Shuya river bank in the fabulous pine forest. Visit of the ancient village of Karelia Kinerma, which in 2016 became the most beautiful village in Russia. Lunch in the traditional house with local dishes. Visit to the wooden chapel of the Virgin Mary of Smolensk. Transfer to Petrozavodsk. Accommodation.
Breakfast. Visit to the city of Petrozavodsk. Transfer to the island of Kizhi by boat. Excursion to the Kizhi State Open-Air Museum of Wooden Architecture. You will be taken to see the process of restoration of the main church of Kizhi. You will see where and how it is being restored and learn some secrets of traditional Russian wooden church architecture. On the way back we will stop near the highest point of Kizhi to enjoy the panoramic view. Lunch. Transfer to Petrozavodsk. Accommodation.
Breakfast. Check-out. Departure to Kivach Nature Reserve. Visit to St. Peter’s Cathedral. Visit to Kivach natural reserve. The territory of the reserve is a unique natural complex, with its waterfall famous throughout Europe that bears the name Kivach. Lunch. Transfer to Petrozavodsk. Arrival to Petrozavodsk. Culinary workshop on baking a cake. Transfer to the train station or airport.
