Do you agree that Russia is one of the countries with the strictest visa requirements?
While we are looking forward to the borders opening and tourism return to normal, Rostourism is trying to resolve the subject of facilitating the visa regime for foreigners.
Here are some proposals that are under consideration by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
⠀ 1. To introduce a multiple tourist visa with up to 5-year using period. The applying period is proposed to be reduced to 3 weekdays. The visa will include all Russian regions.
⠀ 2. To expand the list of countries whose citizens can obtain an e-visa starting from January 1, 2021.
⠀ 3. To extend the validity of an e-visa to 60 calendar days with possibility to stay in the country up to 16 days (which is 2 times longer than the current one!)
⠀ 4. To expand the list of Russian cities that are accessible to be visited with e-visas including Moscow, Sochi, and Kazan.
⠀ 3. To allow visa-free entry for 72-hour period for transit passengers of aircraft with confirmed departure date and for 24-hour period for passengers of cruise ships, so that tourists have the opportunity to make Russia the starting point of the cruise, or to be able to leave the country by other types of transport if the cruise ends in Russia.
It looks promising for the development of incoming tourism in Russia, doesn’t it?
