On May 9, Russia celebrated the 80th anniversary of Victory!
This year, Russia marked the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II on a grand scale—an event that forever changed the course of world history.
Across the country, parades, concerts, “Immortal Regiment” marches, and dazzling fireworks lit up the day. Thousands took to the streets to honor the heroes and celebrate this pivotal moment together.
Highlights of the celebrations:
🎖️ Solemn parades — on Moscow’s Red Square and in cities across Russia;
🕊️ “Immortal Regiment” march — millions carried portraits of their relatives who fought in WWII, a tradition symbolizing the bond between generations and remembrance of those who fought for peace;
🎤 Open-air concerts — featuring orchestras, stars, and veterans;
🎇 Victory fireworks — the night skies over Moscow and hero cities shone with dazzling displays.
