Tour Details

Baikal is located in the center of Asia, not far from the Mongolian border. It is famous for its geological antiquity and unique wildlife. Lake Baikal is the deepest and oldest lake in the world protected by UNESCO. It amazes with its clear and transparent water and fabulously beautiful shores.

You will start your introduction with the lake from a small village that is located on the shore of Baikal – Listvyanka. With a population of 1,500 the village got its name in honor of the larch trees that grow here (listvennitsa). The main attraction is the Taltsy museum. It recreates the cultural and the daily life of the Siberian village of the 17-19th century where you can know the traditions of local people of the region.

You will visit the famous island of Olkhon that is also considered as the heart of Lake Baikal. It is a great place to get away from civilization, to feel the nature and to enjoy the magnificent energy of the lake. While you admire the beauty of this place, your guide will prepare a delicious lunch on a campfire and tell you miraculous stories about shamans.
