Tour Details

This tour will provide you with the unique opportunity to see the most important cities of Russia, and the most beautiful as well, in less than 2 weeks. The two capitals open their doors to the most important museums and sites, offer a wide range of fun activities and city life. While the 6 towns, that used to be the political and religious centers of the tsarist Russia, will immerse you in the history of a great country, in the mysteries and conspiracies, in the life of the royal court. And, of course, will offer the aesthetic pleasure of contemplation of the traditional Russian church architecture.

Itinerary

Day 1Moscow

Arrival to Moscow. Transfer to the hotel with a local guide.

Day 2Moscow

Breakfast. Panoramic city tour, during which we will see the most famous places of the Russian capital: the Red Square – one of the largest squares in the world, located at the foot of the Kremlin, famous for the Lenin’s Mausoleum and the Saint Basil’s Cathedral. Then we will see the so-called “Seven Sisters” – a group of seven skyscrapers – built after the Second World War, which are a symbol of the Soviet Moscow. We will visit the Moscow Metro, considered the most beautiful subway in the world. Lunch. Visit to the Moscow Kremlin. You will have an opportunity to visit one of the three cathedrals: Cathedral of the Dormition, Cathedral of the Archangel, and Cathedral of the Annunciation – which form the Cathedral Square. Dinner.

Day 3Moscow

Breakfast. Free day.

Day 4Moscow – Vladimir – Suzdal

Breakfast. Transfer to Vladimir. Guided city tour, during which you will see the Cathedral of Saint Demetrius – a former cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church, and the Golden Gate – both belong to the World Heritage of UNESCO. Lunch (extra charge). Transfer to Suzdal. During the city tour, we will see the Suzdal Kremlin, the Cathedral of the Nativity and the Convent of the Intercession. Then, excursion to the Museum of Wooden Architecture. Check-in at the hotel.

Day 5Suzdal – Kostroma

Breakfast. Transfer to Kostroma. Lunch (extra charge). Sightseeing city tour of Kostroma (the Ipatievsky Monastery, the Trinity Cathedral, the Museum of Icons, etc.). Check-in at the hotel. Free evening.

Day 6Kostroma – Yaroslavl

Breakfast. Transfer to Yaroslavl. City tour (including the monastery of the Transfiguration of the Saviour). Lunch (extra charge). Free time in the city center. Check-in at the hotel.

Day 7Yaroslavl – Rostov Veliky – Sergiyev Posad – Tver

Breakfast. Transfer to Rostov Veliky. Guided tour of the Rostov Kremlin with its White Palace. Transfer to Sergiyev Posad. Lunch (extra charge). Excursion to the Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius. Transfer to Tver. Check-in at the hotel.

Day 8Tver – Veliky Novgorod

Breakfast. Guided city tour in Tver – one of the most beautiful cities of Central Russia – during which you will discover the historic city center and its monuments dedicated to Michael of Tver (a Prince of Tver), Alexander Pushkin, Ivan Krylov and Afanasy Nikitin, the Island of Memory with the Church of Michael of Tver and the White Trinity Church (dating to the 16th century), as well as the Palace of Catherine II. Transfer to Veliki Novgorod (also known as Novgorod the Great). Accommodation at the hotel.

Day 9Veliky Novgorod – Saint Petersburg

Breakfast. Panoramic city tour with a visit to the Novgorod Kremlin, the Yaroslav’s Court and the Cathedral of St. Sophia. Novgorod the Great is the oldest city in Russia, which was an important center of trade and crafts in the Middle Ages. Today it is an open-air museum, where you can fully enjoy the atmosphere of authentic Russia. Transfer to Saint Petersburg. Check-in at the hotel.

Day 10Saint Petersburg

Breakfast. Panoramic city tour, during which you will pass by the most famous and majestic cathedrals of St. Petersburg – the Church of the Savior on Blood and the Saint Isaac’s Cathedral, and make a stop at the end of the Vasilyevsky Island (so-called “Strelka”) – before going to Hare Island to visit the Peter and Paul Fortress with the tombs of the Russian tsars. Guided tour to the Hermitage – one of the largest galleries and antique museums in the world. Transfer to the hotel.

Day 11Saint Petersburg

Breakfast. Free day. Optional: Boat trip along rivers and canals / Visit to the Saint Isaac’s Cathedral. Return to the hotel / Free time in the city center.

Day 12Saint Petersburg

Breakfast. Optional: Peterhof (the Grand Palace and the Lower Gardens). Transfer to the airport with a guide.
